Picture Day is tomorrow! It is a pre-pay event so if you want fall pictures please send in you form and money tomorrow. There are extra forms available in the office.

SECOND GRADE ROCKS!!!

SECOND GRADE ROCKS!! 

Here are a few pictures of our class from the past few weeks.. CHECK IT OUT!! :) 

STUDENTS WORKING IN GROUPS TO IDENTIFY THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE AND END OF A STORY.. BUT, ALSO TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION THAT CHARACTER FACED... 

WE ARE COMPARING TWO DIFFERENT STRATEGIES IN MATH AND DECIDING WHAT WE WILL USE NEXT TIME..

OUR CLASS IS ENGAGED IN WORKING THROUGH PROBLEMS IN ST MATH.. A PROGRAM SIMILAR TO C.G.I. 
 STUDENTS SHOWING RESPONSIBILITY AS THEY CALMLY SIT AND WATCH OUR STOMP TEAM PERFORM AT HOOT N' HOLLER!! 

OUR OWL GROUPS WORKING TO SOLVE A MATH STORY



 OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY BOARD.. STUDENTS SHARE PICTURES OF THEIR FAMILY/FRIENDS WITH THE CLASS.. IT'S A GREAT WAY TO GET TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER IN CLASS!! 

EACH STUDENT HAS A NUMBER ON A SPEECH BUBBLE.. THEY WRITE WHAT THEY READ ABOUT WHILE IN READING STATION.. STUDENTS ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY ARE LEARNING.

Building a Bar Graph with Shoes

Student's building a bar graph based on the types of shoes in our classroom. They took this information and created their own graph. This lesson was very interactive and engaging! 



Geometry with Marshmallows and Pretzels!!

Students building various geometric shapes with marshmallows and pretzels. We are also learning to identify the number of sides and vertices. They can explain the difference between a 2 and 3D shape.

Valentine's Day!!!

Our Valentine's Day celebration was a HUGE success! 
Thank you to each of our parents who were able to either volunteer their time or share snacks/supplies with our class! 

We began our celebration with a few minute-to-win it activities!
