The Power of Yet!

Our classroom has a POSITIVE MINDSET! We are working on sharing "glows" and "grows" with each other.

Each morning, we are working to share a new quote that will inspire us the for the day!

We incorporate this into our learning throughout the entire day.

In math, students are sharing their work and convincing each other how they solved their problem. Their neighbor is referring back to a self-check rubric. They share what their friend did well and what they can grow from after listening to them.

During reading, students are listening to their book club partner. After their partner has read, they share a "glow" and a "grow." They share information they learned about in class. Students look back at our anchor charts when sharing. The student may decide their partner did a great job "scooping" but can improve on "sounding like the character."

Each student is listening to feedback from the other and decides what they will learn from this.. they place this on a sticky note.. entitled- "My Favorite Mistake" i.e. Mindset Monday or Mindset Totally Tuesday..
